GSVBISG was organized in 2003 as a result of brain injury survivors and caregivers needing support and appropriate services.  The first support group meeting was held September, 2003.  We offer support to survivors of acquired and traumatic brain injuries and their families.  We are actively involved in improving services to the Shenandoah Valley region, while promoting prevention and awareness.  GSVBISG has been designated as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity by the Internal Revenue Service.  Donations are tax deductible.

Our meetings are open to the public.  We welcome anyone who needs or wants to know more about this "hidden disability."  We invite you to join us in this very important mission.

We now have Case Management Services available, at Crossroads to Brain Injury Recovery (540-568-8923).  We also are in need of:

  • Residential Treatment, Community Living Services, Employment, Transportation, and Day/Long-Term Care facilities;
  • Programs/Services, Social/Recreational/Peer Support;
  • Individual/Family Supports, Educational/Awareness Services.

We are creating partnerships for support and assistance to rebuild lives.  We provide presentations and activities through our support group.

We are dedicated to fulfilling our mission.
